Nothing But Creative: Hear It Everywhere, today.

Well, it was not the new PMP player after all. It is a X-Fi Notebook Sound Card with the capability to transmit sounds wireless to a speaker via a separately sold wireless receiver. I like the idea of controlling your home sound system wirelessly, and not by some wires that is very unsightly and not feasible. It will be very cool to have this function in the new Zen, and I really look forward to it.

That being said, is there something wrong with Creative? I quote a comment from nothingbutcreative.blogspot.com regarding the new X-Fi notebook soundcard.

For the USB series, we have the 'Play!'. Than a month later, we have the 'Go!', which is clearly better than the 'Play!'.

We than compare the Audigy notebook which was release way long back. While the X-fi Xtremeaudio notebook came out quite long after the first, it only took a few months for this new toy to roll out.

Which makes me think... Will my Zen X-fi(After reading reviews everywhere including this and testing it myself at Marina Sq), which I'm going to purchase this coming week be obsolete the next month?

This was exactly what I had in mind when I saw this product, as well as other Creative lineups such as the Zen. Zen Vision M and Zen Vision W? Zen and Zen X-Fi? Zen Stone and Zen Stone plus? What are all the difference between the products? Wider screen, X-Fi, and a screen, respectively. Ok, improvements is always good, but such 'improvment' in such a short time is really frustrating. I could only imagine owners of Zen stone swearing their days out when the Zen Stone Plus came out. Creative is like cheating us. Are they forcing people to buy the 'improved' products after we have brought the 'older' but similar product? The USB series 'Play!' and 'Go!' is really ridiculous. Why risk disappointing so many people by creating better products in the same lineup in such a short time?

So a good advice, wait before you buy.....

From the new teaser poster from Creative, I can only get two things for sure. First, the new product will be introduced on 17 September 2008. Secondly, it is an X-Fi product. Haha... I cannot really tell what on earth it is. A PMP player? Well, there is certainly some buzz about this picture of a design from the Creative's patent.

Hmm.... Possible... Given that it is shape like a rectangle. Although it is abit too slim for me, as the PMP from figure 1 looks thick. But there seems to be a screen in the reflection. If it was to be a PMP, it should be bigger than the Creative Zen and Zen X-Fi. Maybe an X-Fi update of the Creative Vision? Some people say that it is going to be touch-screen, or an internet tablet. Some even say there is a camera on it, judging from some rear view of the player also from the patent. But looking at the progress of Creative, I will say

What about the "Everywhere"? Does it suggest some wireless function? Grahh, in the end, I don't really know anything. But one thing is for sure, I am hear waiting......

Vista. Looks good on the outside, weak on the inside. I am extremely frustrated at how slow Vista can run. On a bad day when I am in a lousy mood, a jerky laggy Vista does not make my life any better.

I was looking for some ways to optimize the performance of Vista (there are tons of guides out there), when I discovered "50 ways to make Windows Vista faster". (note: there are 5 parts in the article)

Pretty cool. But I found 1 advice very useful. That's No. 35.

35. Streamline Your Startup

Every program that starts with Windows Vista consumes resources and extends the boot time. Some programs – like your security tools – are essential, but others aren’t. Discover how to trim back what loads with a free program called AutoRuns, which you can download from Microsoft TechNet.

a) Extract Program Files

Once downloaded, double-click Autoruns.zip and choose Extract all files. Choose a folder and click Extract. Once complete, double-click autoruns.exe to launch the program.

b) Logon Tab

A whole series of tabs will appear, each display start-up programs according to their category. Switch to the Logon tab. Untick those you think it’s safe to disable – right-click an entry and choose Search Online to find out more about it first.

c) Delete Entries Permently

Once you’ve ascertained a disabled entry isn’t important, you can opt to remove it completely - to do so, right-click it and choose Delete. Click Yes when prompted

Buying an iPod or MacBook? Stop right there!

Because Apple is expected to released new iPod nano and new iPod touch. They are expected to be cheaper, since current price is abit high as compared to the iPhone.

As for MacBooks, Apple could be coming out with newer designs. Aluminium seems to be the theme, with some pictures of a possible MacBook casing.

This would certainly be an improvement from the current plastic casing of MacBook, which do experiences some problems such as decolourisation of the casing at places where you placed your wrist. It would most probably follow the design of the MacBook Air. Hopefully, there will be an upgrade in specs.

Also coming up, "Apple is also planning to refresh its line of 20- and 24-inch iMac seasons ahead of the holidays." Here's is a roadmap from AppleInsider.

What's the big deal with Spore?

It is created by the legendary Will Wright, creator of The Sims as well as the Simcity series.
Just like his previous games, Spore has an open-ended gameplay, and it will be massive.
It is a "god game", "real-time strategy game", "life simulation game" all at the same time.

So... How do you play Spore?

In a nutshell, its about the evolution of cells, to creature, to tribe, to civilization, and to space. The scope of this game is definitely massive. Design and control your creature (think The Sims), form a tribe and a civilization (think Simcity), and conquer the universe (think... Starcraft?!?). Wow.

There's an unlimited possibility of creatures you can create. You can create a lean battle machine...

Can I play with my friends?

Yes, and no. Spore is a "massively single player online game". Simultaneous multiplayer is not possible. However, you can receives statistics of how your creatures are faring in other players' games, sort of a parallel universe. The game reports to the player on how other players interacted with them (for example, how many times other players destroyed their planet). The personalities of user-created species are dependent on how the user played them.

The Script - The Script

On August 8, 2008 their debut album was released in Ireland, both through digital download and physical CD release, and was released on August 11, 2008 in the UK. The album is currently at number one on UK iTunes. Unfortunately it went on to get the number one spot on both the Irish Album Chart and UK Albums Chart on its first week of release.

This album features 2 hit singles, "We cry" and " The Man Who Can't be Moved"

The other songs which I've considered not bad are " Before the Worst " and "The End Where I Begin".

1. Nothing But Creative

This amazing blog is a "must see" for anyone interested in Creative products. It has regular updates on up and coming Creative products and news, as well as in-depth product review. Check out the Creative Zen X-Fi review, which is detailed and full of pictures. Excellent stuff. There are also regular updates on upcoming Creative sales. Also, do look out for articles that describe the life of a die-hard creative fan. Very interesting indeed.

On a side note, also check out the Anything But iPod website. (Similar names,
but same objective! haha...)

2. TSGTS: The Singapore Gadget Talk Show

"We are Singaporeans that loves electronic gadgets and we enjoy talking about the local consumer market. Hence, with the creation of this space we can air our views and hopefully be able to provide some useful information to fellow Singaporean."

Well, what I like about this blog is how most of the content are in context with Singapore. It has many posts on some good deals in Singapore, especially during the tech seasons in Singapore such as the various PC shows or the Great Singapore Sale. Do check out the Singapore Notebook Promotions, where it is update regularly on good deals for notebooks. Excellent local content.

3. Kid Tech Guru
This is one blog that puts many people in shame. Haha.. Why? A 14-year old kid writing a tech blog and achieved 1000+ visitors in 2 weeks?!? ~~Ouch.~~ Wow. There are many comments in the blog, ranging from "Interesting stuff" to "Well written" etc. There is even a comment by a 60 year old guy that he find something written by the 14 year old blogger very useful. Just thinking about the age difference is scary enough.

No doubt, I find the articles very useful and interesting. There are useful Firefox add-ons discovered, blogger tips on making money or viewing traffic, and general good findings on the internet. His blog has became so successful that there is a US$50 contest to 1 lucky person who subscribe to the blog email update. Is that money from the profits of the blog, or is it a tactic to generate more traffic? Its anyone guess. But for a 14-year old to dish out such tricks is impressive. A "must see" blog definitely.

iPhone 3G in S'pore

The iPhone 3G has reached Singapore! I was reading an article from TODAY about the iPhone. It was a nice article which briefly discuss the pros and cons of iPhone. I decided to do a quick summary of the article, because many people do not seem to be aware of the shortcomings of iPhone, which may be shocking to some.

Pros

3.5G
2MP camera
Can pair iPhone with wireless headset
Integration with iTunes ("If you lose the phone, you can get a new one and restore it with the latest backup, with all yoru settings intact")
A "central device for mobile media consumption"
features of phone, desktop-grade Web browsing and email
Apple commited in bug fixing and feature additions
App Store like a "Swiss Army knife", allows limitless applications to broaden the phone's functions (think open source)
Good performance in 3G and calls
Battery yielded decent 8-10 hours

Cons

Can't forward SMS
Can't create SMS group
Can't send MMS
Cannot delete individual messages, have to delete whole conversation threads
No copy and paste (people who love to forward SMS will have a hard time)
No video calls (Yes, its 3.5G...)
Cannot capture video (shocked?)
Cannot transfer files from iPhone to another device via Bluetooth (no more "Can BT me some games?)
Heavy utiilisng push emal and viewing media intensively drained battery life to three hours (not really a con, but something to take note of)
Can't use as an exernal storage device
May be troublesome for people with long fingernails

Well, Apple may address such issues in upcoming patches, so the iPhone isn't that bad... As if such tiny (but very irriating) issues will stop hordes of people from owning an iPhone.

Creative Zen X-Fi... Finally a break through?

It was very frustrating looking at the new "Creative Zen X-Fi" mp3 player. Firstly, it looks almost exactly the same as the "Creative Zen", which was still ok since there seemed to be an improvement from the flimsy plastic of Zen to the more metallic solid Zen X-Fi. The most frustrating about the new Zen is that it has X-Fi technology (omg!) and is priced at S$399 for 32gb. I mean... I spent $500+ for the Creative Zen a few months ago, and they came out with a Creative Zen with X-Fi for S$399?!?

I am sure many of us do feel the pain... !@#$...

Before I keep ranting on about the world is unfair ( I wan trade in my Zen!!!), let's focus on the gem of the Creative Zen X-Fi. The main selling point is of course, the X-Fi technology. X-Fi is a technology by Creative which "restore portions of the sound which were lost during compression". I have never savour the quality of X-Fi technology, but based on reviews of some X-Fi products, the sound is breathtaking.

"The reasonably priced Creative Xmod does a remarkable job of making audio sound brighter, deeper, and more vibrant." by Cnet

You can try the X-Fi Crystalizer Demo to get a taste of X-Fi technology. Honesetly, the difference is unbeliveable. Based on review from nothingbutcreative, "X-Fi feature (in Creative Zen X-Fi) does provide a rather dramatic improvement to your music!"

"With the X-Fi Crystalizer ON, your music immediately becomes more rich and crisp. And if you like music with bass, the crystalizer really increase the intensity of the bass, which would make you really happy. However, when the X-Fi Crystalizer is set to MAX, the bass for certain songs became to overpowering and the vocals also became very sharp. Therefore, to enjoy the most out of the X-Fi, setting it to ON mode is sufficient."

Not to mention that Creative Zen X-Fi comes with an external speaker, SD card slot, and Wi-Fi capability. Sadly, no web browsing for you. It can only be used for transferring music or to chat via MSN or Yahoo Messenger. (that's what the 9 buttons are for!)

Will this Creative Zen X-Fi be an iPod killer? No. This is because Creative Zen X-Fi is more of a middle-end product as compared to the higher-end iTouch. It seriously loses out on extra applications and features such as a simple stop-watch or even a text reader.

However, Creative does have the potential to produce an iPod killer. Someone commented that Apple really have to buy X-Fi technology from Creative as it can be a real threat. I totally agree to that. X-Fi can be a true killer feature for Creative with its emphasis on sound quality more than anything. However, we have yet to see Creative developing technology such as touch screen or even trying to produce a high-end product. Just look at some of the upcoming mp3 players such as the Creative Mozaic or the Zen Krystal, and we know that they are pretty low-end. That is one frustrating thing about Creative, where they keep producing products that are very similar. Examples are the Zen Stone and Zen Stone plus, or Zen Vision and Zen Vision W. I would rather wait for a mp3 player with cooler feature than seeing a variety of mp3 players with almost the same function.

Of course, considering Creative difficulty in terms of profit, I don't really blame them. I will still support Creative for some time to come. Go Creative!!

Orange Range: Viva Rock

Orange Range is one of my favorite band. This was the very first song I have heard from them, and it was in one of the ending song of Naruto. Personally, this is one of the best songs I have heard from Orange Range. The song start off with an interesting 'army style' cheer (see the video below, damn funny). The bass and the guitar is very strong, but yet not overpowering the vocals. The strong chords and bass of this song is a very unique characteristic of this song. There is definitely a nice mix of Pop and Rock.

Interestingly, this song has a very strong American theme (weird). At certain part of the song, you can hear cheerleaders shouting out some alphabets. Yep, they are shouting A.M.E.R.I.C.A.N. This may be because This is attributed the Orange Range's hometown is in Okinawa, a well known station for American military bases and thus cultures and different styles often blend. Very interesting indeed.

Let's start with something recent. Nana Mizuki's new album, Starcamp EP, and the song that I really loved, "Dancing in the velvet moon". Before this song, I have never heard of Nana Mizuki. I heard this song at the ending song of the anime series "Rosario+Vampire".

The moment I heard the song, I really have this sudden urge to listen to the full song. I love the background music, like how the electric guitar, piano, vocal and orchestral mix together. I appreciate songs that mixes classical and modern instrument together. One instrument worth mentioning is the used of harpsichord, an ancient type of piano used during the Baroque period of music. Its distinct and sharp sound really goes well with this song, giving the song an overall Gothic and yet elegant feel. It certainly have plenty of momentum and the 'feel good' mood.

Also worth mentioning is the transition part just before the final chorus (3mins+), where Nana sang in a sweet and innocent voice (almost till the point of errire...). A very refreshing transition part which reinforces the whole gothic+elegant feel.

Definitely a song to me.

Just as u think that oh Man Utd will either lose or draw with Arsenal,WHAM, they booted Arsenal out with 4 in their face. Man Utd fans must be celebrating this well deserved victory over arch rivals Arsenal. Meanwhile Arsenal and Liverpool fans must be wondering what the hell happened to their team.Especially liverpool fans whom thought that Barnsley will be an easy opponent such that manager Benitez decided to rest couple of players in the XI for the more important champions league match against Inter-milan.

Looking at the score line, it reads Manchester United 4-0 Arsenal.The first question that comes to your mind must be who has scored? And then u thought of Ronaldo,Rooney,tevez. Yes, only rooney scored, so who scored the other 3? Anderson? Carrick? Park? or own goal(s)? And the hero is DARREN FLETCHER, the young 23 year old Scottish international. He scored 2 with his head from crosses provided by Nani who scored 1 too.

Fergie saw his tactic right by playing 3 midfielders in the centre whom dominated the whole day. The midfield domination saw Man Utd went 3-0 up in the first halve. Judging from the performance of the players, i will give Man of the Match to Darren Fletcher although Carrick and Nani performed well too.

Enough say.Watch the highlights =). Look out for all the off the ball runnings, they are wonderful.

Vista troubleshoot: Unable to run program

Have you ever used Vista and just can't seem to get programs to work? Are you getting strange errors when you run some software in Vista, but it works fine in Window XP? If you answer yes for any questions above, you should read on.

One of the most possible culprit will be Window Vista's new function, the User Account Control (UAC). It is a security function that prevents malware from receiving the privileges necessary to compromise the system. Click here to read more.

The very 'chatty' and annoying UAC

However, some programs and games can't seem to run with UAC turned on. Though not as safe, you can turn off UAC to run the program.

How to do it? Go to Control Panel and type "UAC" in the search bar. Click on Turn UAC on or off. Turn it off. Remember to restart.

If this does not work, you can try to use run program as administrator. This can be done by right clicking the program icon and click on run program as administrator.

Another solution is changing the compatibility mode of the program to Window XP or older. To do this, right click on the program icon, click Properties, and click on the Compatibility tab.

There you go. Hope you have your program up and running.

That day after i board onto my bus and sat down, i took out my ipod's headset and put into my ears, just as after i start my ipod, it HANGED!!!

My first reaction was, What the hell have i done to my ipod!! It was well the day before but it hangs when i switched it on the next day. I felt extremely frustrated and wish that i could just throw my ipod on the floor and it will work again. My second reaction was, why the bloody ipod do not even have a bloody reset button!!

And so, i went to school without the entertainment that usually my ipod brings.
BUT after a while, my friend told me a similar case he had with his ipod not long ago and he has a solution!!!!!

The picture above shows the solution. IF yr ipod hangs, u can HOLD THE MENU BUTTON AND THE SELECT BUTTON AT THE SAME TIME FOR A FEW SECONDS.

And there u go with the solution if yr ipod hangs.

New iPod touch.... IMBA !!!!

The new iPod touch. Looks familiar lol?

To tell you frankly, I am no fan of iPod. Being a Singaporean, I support our local "Creative" brand. I mean, it is Apple who stole the mp3 idea from Creative right?

But this time, I have to say sorry to Creative, to Singapore. One look at the new iPod just blows my mind away. No more crappy circular wheel. No more "every iPod generation looks the same" (ok, although it really look like the iPhone, but *cough* we will spare them this time). This is just (sorry for the language) holy shit. We welcome, the iPod touch.

Let's focus on its features. Viewing music, photos and video are as easy as 123 now. With a large 3.5 inch screen, it uses the Multi-touch interface which makes iPhone so amazing. That means you can use your fingers to zoom pictures, glide through albums, zoom in on webpage (omfg). Also, when you rotate the ~~iPhone~~ iPod from portrait to landscape, the screen will also change as well.

Not to mention there is a QWERTY keyboard in it. (You should be wondering why on earth a keyboard in iPod...)

One more feature really shock me. Really shock me. Wi-Fi Web Browser. No kidding! I mean, a mp3 player that can view the internet ?!?! Holy shit. Never in my life would I thought that Apple would make such a move. I thought that they would make an iPhone and trash the iPod. I even planned on writting an article on the extinction of mp3 players. Boy, am I so wrong.

If that is not shocking enough, the Safari browser in the iPod is able to view Youtube! OMG!! Even the Internet Explorer in Window Mobile 6 (WM6) can't to that, and other mobile browser have much trouble trying to play flv videos. Boy, am I impress.

Actually, I am still rather speechless right now. Apple never fails to amaze me, from iPod to iPhone, to the macOSX. Wow. Innovation is everywhere in their product. I really have to take my hat off for them. I am now imagine a life with the iPod touch. I was actually planning to buy the Sony Ericsson W960i, a potential iPhone killer, since it has features such as Wi-Fi browsing and good sound quality etc., but now I am having serious second thoughts.

Way to go Apple.

Btw, there is also a newer iPod nano, but who cares lol.

Wolfteam, FPS by Softnyx

From the creators of Gunbound and Rakion comes the new First Person shooter (FPS) game called Woflteam. It has a unique characteristic that instead of a melee weapon, the user will transform into a wolf which can climb walls. There will be more than 30 weapons available.

There are five games modes in total.

Conquest Mode (Human VS Wolf)

It is a game where you have to capture a territory. To win, you must capture all 5 bases or have more than the opposing team.

In Human VS Wolf, Red Team will be humans while Blue Team will be wolves. There are three wolves (Power, Guardian , Ghost) that are exclusive to this game mode.Wolves will mutate alowingthem to use attacks like block and hide.

Team Deathmatch

To win, you must kill more than the opponent before time ends or reach the target kills first.

Bomb Mode

For Red team, you have to plant a bomb protect it until it explodes. For Blue team, you have to try to defuse the Bomb

Human VS Wolf Survival

Although currently not available in the international version, it is rumored to be a death match-like last man standing mode.

Well, the game is still in pre-open beta and will go into open beta in October. Just take note that all account before open beta will be wiped off. I have not really played the game, but I have watched some of the video gameplay, and I can say that it is quite interesting. Knowing that this game comes from Softnyx, we can be assure that this game will be a good one (and free!).

Pro Evolution Soccer had long been famous for their amazing graphics and gaming experiences.
The new game boasts the revolutionary Team Vision AI system, a proprietary element that actively monitors the player’s onscreen movements and adapts accordingly, forcing the player to consider their own strategic play more carefully. Other new additions include amazing attention to aesthetic detail as faces contort and shirts crease during a match, extensive Edit modes in all Next Generation versions, and closer control than.

Eye for goal
Was it worth the wait? Yes, totally - and a tiny bit not... but more on that later. Impressive visuals aside, there's a kitbag of new features - including bringing key defenders up for corners, photo-scanning for accurate player editing and a new 'popularity' system in the Master League. The screenshots might look like renders, but zoom-in during replays and you'll be gobsmacked at the player likenesses and fine detail - the fluid animations make PES6 on PS2 look like table football. Players are clearly differentiated - watching Thierry Henry dance past bewildered defenders with subtle nudges of the left stick is a sight to behold, with blink-and-you'll-miss-it subtly animated shoulder shrugs and a twist of the hips. Fast players like Ronaldo can really outstrip their plodding counterparts - it's not absurd, but you stand more chance of bursting past a full back than in PES6. There's a real advantage in having, say, Aaron Lennon running the wing rather than a lead-footed Ivan Campo, making your key players more effective in their specialist areas. On the flip-side - as is the trend in successive Pro Evo's - defenders can exploit their physicality to blunt razor-sharp runs. Playing as Man United vs Inter Milan, little Anderson was being spun every time he crashed into leggy Vieira - while dogged tacklers like John Terry dominate in goalmouth scrambles. The cheeky q tackles and fiddly slides of PES6 are complemented by more realistic scrambles, with desperate hacks at the ball and some naughty shirt-pulling. Players scrap doggedly side-by-side, and we've seen two, or even three, seesaw interchanges of possession in gritty tackles. Defenders now dig their heels in and impose their strength in mini-battles around the pitch.

Block tackle
Defenders will go to desperate lengths to prevent a goal; throwing their bodies into the path of the ball with their backs turned, blocking the shot and keeping their face and spuds from harm. New heading techniques - like craning out a neck to pinch a bouncing ball, or carefully shielded back-headers - add realistic variety to defending crowded areas or going for goal. Headers are stronger - you can glance, lob and power the ball with your noggin; the latter scattering the opposing players like skittles if you're leaping with six foot seven Niko Zigic. Shots can be powerful too, too - we hit one Gerrard volley so hard, it knocked a player off his feet.TeamVision precisionSadly, it's hard to pinpoint a defining new feature, or option, in this current build of PES 2008 - most notably in the barely-changed Master League (see page 26), though this may change in later code. The biggest alteration is the fluid passing, linked to the

(yes, the name is daft, but teams really do move more intelligently, forcing you to work the ball around) and, while we bang on about how PES is "more realistic and random" every year, you can really see - and feel -the difference. Wait until you see Ronaldinho leaping high into the air and heel-flicking a perfect pass to Messi. Players react more naturally - intuitively using the outside of their boots, heels, and chests to guide the ball to a team-mate. Misplaced passes are less common, allowing a slicker, Arsenal-style, passing game - but common sense applies, as ever. Accurate passing requires balance - steady yourself and play the way you're facing - and it's vital to exploit player's strengths, like Beckham for cross-field balls or Cesc Fabregas for one-two moves. Vary between quick passes, one-twos and through balls - which are more varied and powerful in PES 2008 - for maximum success.
The Tactics menu lets you choose first and second choice kickers for set-pieces, and specify which players you want up at corners. You can even do through-ball throw ins with w, or set throw-in takers. Free kicks are more analogue than PES6 - and, thus, a bit kinder. Penalties are similar, but you view the kicker from behind the goalie, at a slight angle - it's more atmospheric, but initially confusing (and rumours of Sixaxis goalie dives persist, which the new angle would suit). Keepers are more human (reducing the 'force field' ball claiming of old), making genuinely athletic fingertip dives, or clumsily spilling rasping shots - we've seen a fair few rebound goals. It's easier to score, too - one of our first games was a 3-4 loss to Barcelona with Man Utd (playing on Regular). It feels 'harder' than PES6, but only because the CPU plays intelligent, unpredictable, attacking football, as opposed to grinding you down with robotic, cheating, efficiency.

Guild wars is a Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game created by Seattle based game development studio, ArenaNet. ArenaNet is part of NCsoft corporation and founded by three former members who were formerly from Blizzard Entertainment and played important roles in the development of World of Warcraft. Guild wars is different from many other MMORPGs in the sense that it focuses less on levelling characters and spending time "grinding", having low maximum levels and little or no repetitive tasks necessary for the playing of the game. Instead, the main objective of Guild Wars is the completion of missions in various campaigns, each with different themes, maps and new additions such as skills and classes.

Initially in the first campaign of Guild Wars, Guild Wars Prophecies, there were only six classes, which prompted criticism from skeptics who believed that fewer classes meant unbalanced PvPing. These six classes were: Warrior, Ranger, Mesmer, Monk, Elementor and Necromancer. The end result, however, was more than balanced... it was almost perfect. Each class had specific roles, strengths and weaknesses which made for challenging PvPing, requiring careful thoughts on builds and skills. This near perfection, however, in my opinion, was ruined by the introduction of four new classes in the release of the second and third campaigns of Guild Wars, Factions and Nightfall. Some of the roles of the new classes overlapped those of the older ones, making some classes even obsolete. This error may be due to the fact that Guild Wars improves itself by relying heavily on player feedback. ArenaNet seems to have realised the problem, however, as they decided not to release another two classes in the fourth and newest campaign, Guild Wars Eye of the North.

A smart move by ArenaNet, was to offer gameplay without a subscription fee, therefore relying on profits only from the sale of the client and the account that comes with it. They believed that paying a fee would make gamers feel obliged to play regularly and get their money's worth, instead of playing for the sake of enjoying. "It is our opinion that the free online gaming model combined with frequent content updates is the optimum online paradigm for interfacing with consumers and creating a significant, enduring gaming franchise." - Jeff Strain, one of the founders of ArenaNet.

Due to shrewd developers, jaw-dropping graphics and constantly engaging gameplay, Guild Wars has definitely been successful, which is obvious, from its release of four campaigns and counting. During the Guild Wars Nightfall PvE Beta testing, half a million gamers spent an average of 8.5 hours testing out the new campaign.

Be warned, the jaw-dropping, mind-turning, eye-opening graphics may put one hell of a strain to your PC. Guild Wars is definitely, however, worth the space.

Starcraft: The Sequel.

After what seems like a millenium.. The game developers of Starcraft and Starcraft:Brood War, Blizzard, have finally come and introduced Starcraft 2 the sequel to the legend of Starcraft.. =p

I'm sure everyone has at least heard of Starcraft, which is a real-time strategy game type, whereby players control many individual units, with the sole goal of eliminating the enemy's units with their own. And if you've played Starcraft before.. I'm sure you'll remember the BattleCruisers from the Terran gliding across the sky, the Carriers of the Protoss releasing those small yet powerful mini-ships of theirs, and the Zerg with their hydralisks burrowing.. and surprising their enemy when they least expect it..

For those that are not familiar with Starcraft, there are 3 races that the player can choose from, namely the Protoss, the Terran as well as the Zerg. And each of these races have their own strengths and weaknesses. As players will find out when playing the game themselves. *drools while thinking of the new Protoss Mothership*

So.. what does Starcraft 2 have to offer? Plenty. With the addition of more structures and units to build for each race, players will now have a Armageddon of units to crush their rivals with, all it takes.. is just to employ the right strategy. And victory will be yours.

Besides the introduction of new units.. The graphics, as Blizzard has promised, would include dazzling visual effects as well as massive unit and army sizes. Also, there will be a single-player campaign story-mode that will carry on from where Starcraft: Brood War left off.. And im sure you and I would both want to know where the story goes.. after what happened previously.. =D..

Sadly, the Blizzard team hasn't given a date as to when Starcraft 2 would be coming out.. Although gamers have been discussing and speculating that it'll probably be coming out in the late 2008.. So.. lets keep our fingers crossed.. and pray that it'll come out soon.

So.. for people who have not played Starcraft before, go get it and play it!! It's definitely one of the best real-time strategy game that i've ever played. So i highly recommend it to everyone who hasn't played it..

These 3 new phones from Sony Ericsson will definitely make other phones company a run for their money. Introducing the W960i, K850i and W910i (from left to right). Each phone has its very own signature features and scores high in terms of both functions and design.

W960i

The moment I saw this phone, it was almost like a dream come true. Touch screen, Walkman, Wireless (you heard that right!), 8GB internal memory, 3.2 mega pixel camera, 2.6 inch screen, smartphone interface. This is just like a dream phone pack with features. Typical of Sony Ericsson.

As you may notice, all of the features mentioned above sounds similar to the iphone. Even though the W960i is not a full screen phone, it still has the potential to be an iphone killer. So for guys who can't wait for the Asia iphone in 2008, buy this. I am expecting it to fly off the shelf the moment it becomes available.

W960i will come in 2007 Q4 (soon!)

K850i

Feature of this phone. 5 mega pixel. From Sony Ericsson. Finally, a phone that can rival the Nokia's N95. This phone comes with the typical cyber-shot function such as Bestpic (get nine shots in quick succession) and Xeon flashlight. One great improvement from the previous cyber-shoot phones is an automatic lens cover (Yes!). This means no more mechanical lens cover. Sounds just like a real camera huh?

One more special thing is that the K850i now has a special battery compartment. This means that that gain access to the battery and SIM card, all we have to do is to open the slide-out door, without opening the entire phone casing. And yes, we are talking about a phone, not a camera.

W910i

Shake control. Woa. With Shake control activated, press and hold the Walkman key, then flick your wrist. A vibration lets you know that the track has been changed - a new song from your current playlist is selected randomly then played automatically.

Also, the W910i has a 2.4 inch screen. Large enough to watch videos. With the shake control, there will also be more varieties of game. Control game functions - accelerate, slow down, turn - by tilting your phone forwards, backwards, left or right.

Definitely a good phone to upgrade to.

The new fifa will feature a entirely new mode.This mode is called “Be A Pro: Co-op Season” that challenges you to master the same disciplines as a real professional football player—from positioning and tackling to reading the field and passing. And most importantly, it allows up to 4 human players to play together!!

Some of the key features of the game are manual control of the players ( where you can control them to pass a through ball,control crosses and even have better controls in one-one situation ), custom formations ( This allows you to plan yr desired formation and set the players in the positon u want them to play ), advance AI ( this should be the main key feature as this feature enhance the positioning of the players into better position for passing or shooting ).That is all for the key features.

A Quick review of the demo

And yup, i've downloaded it and test it out myself.Well, overall the game is quite well done.As usual, the graphics is not really good but has improved.Couple of new features work well.There is significant improvement in the ball physics and game play.Players start moving into better position to recieve passes or crosses.However, there is 1 thing i must comment.That is the problem with passing and using of the through ball function.The passes lack strength and accuracy.1 good point is the dribbling of the players, the posture is right and the ball is kept close to the player.The stadium effects and the commentary are good too.

Graphics : 6/10
Sound : 8.5/10
Gameplay:7/10
Overall : 7.2/10 ( recommended to buy )
